Minies beach is found 8 km south of Argostoli, close to the northern end of the airport. This location makes it great for aircraft spotters! Being on the beach, when a plane lands or takes off, is certainly an experience you won’t forget.
The beach is covered with soft golden sand and it is ideal for children due to the shallow clear waters.
It is an organized beach with umbrellas, sun beds and a canteen, but there is as plenty of space to lay a towel out, as well. There is no water sport center available.
Next to the main beach, there is a second one which is much preferred by the fishermen, that has no tourist facilities. Right opposite, is the tiny islet of Vardiani.
